Privacy Policy

The short version: MojiMask does all of its face detection and photo editing on your iPhone. Your photos are never uploaded, transmitted, or sent to us or anyone else.
We don't run analytics, we don't use third-party tracking SDKs, and we don't require an account.
Who this applies to
This policy covers the MojiMask iOS app and its Share Extension (together, "MojiMask," "the app," "we," or "us"), published by Dustin Lange.
What MojiMask accesses on your device
To do its job, MojiMask asks for the following permissions. Each one is used only for the purpose described, and only while you're actively using the app:
- Camera — to let you take a new photo to add an emoji mask to.
- Photo Library (read) — to let you pick an existing photo to edit.
- Photo Library (add) — to save your edited photo back to your library when you choose to.
Photos you edit are processed using Apple's on-device Vision framework to detect faces. That processing happens entirely on your iPhone — MojiMask has no server, and your photos are never sent over the network.
Share Extension
When you share a photo into MojiMask from another app, it's handed to MojiMask by iOS and stored temporarily in a local app group container shared between the main app and the Share Extension, so you can pick up editing where you left off. This storage is local to your device and is cleared as part of normal app usage — it is never transmitted anywhere.
Siri & Shortcuts
If you use the "Apply an Emoji Mask" Shortcut or ask Siri to mask a photo, that request and the photo it operates on are handled entirely on-device by Apple's App Intents framework. We don't receive a copy of the request or the resulting photo.
In-app purchases
MojiMask Premium is a one-time, non-subscription purchase processed entirely by Apple through StoreKit. MojiMask never sees or stores your payment information — Apple handles billing according to its own privacy policy. We only receive confirmation from Apple that a purchase was completed, so we can unlock Premium features on your device.
Analytics, advertising & tracking
MojiMask does not use analytics services, advertising networks, or third-party tracking SDKs of any kind. We don't build a profile of you or your usage, and we don't share data with data brokers or advertisers — because we don't collect any in the first place.
Data we don't collect
MojiMask does not require you to create an account, and does not collect your name, email address, location, contacts, or device identifiers for tracking purposes.
Children's privacy
MojiMask does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children. Since the app doesn't collect data at all, this applies regardless of age.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, we'll update this page and revise the "Last updated" date above. Since MojiMask doesn't collect contact information from users, we're not able to notify you directly — please check back here periodically.
